Holiday Helpers Positively Impacts Members
Over $70,000 raised in funds to support members affected by COVID-19.

The Holiday Helpers fund was created last November to pool resources aimed at helping Choptank Electric members pay their bills at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund was closed after a successful 7-month run, with over $70,000 raised through member donations, local businesses and organizations, and the Choptank Electric Trust.

Disbursement Process
- Choptank Electric spoke to vulnerable members in danger of disconnection.
- Eligible members received funds and established a plan to prevent future disconnections.
- Money from the fund was made available to the elderly, handicapped, veterans, etc.
- Funds were also made available to long-term payment plan members at risk of defaulting.
