Spotlighting Our Scholars
$37,000 in scholarships awarded to local students
Choptank Electric Cooperative, with the Choptank Electric Trust Board and the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives, awarded 23 scholarships totaling $37,000 to students attending college, university or trade school in the fall of 2025.
Choptank Electric awarded its $1,000 Luck of the Draw Scholarship to nine students who were drawn from those who applied and attended the Annual Meeting on April 25.
Bailey Duff of Cecil County, Cecil College, Jordan Lloyd of Wicomico County, Wor-Wic Community College, Brooke Outten of Dorchester County, University of Maryland, Lucas Magathan of Worcester County, University of Maryland, Ethan Quick of Worcester County, West Chester University, Sabrina Shreves of Caroline County, Stevenson University, Gracie Hoffman of Dorchester County, Salisbury University, William Swadley of Talbot County, New York University, Madisyn Moore of Talbot County, Chesapeake College.
The VMDAEC scholarship was awarded to three Choptank Electric Cooperative students this year. The recipients are:
• Kaitlyn Tyler of Worcester County, Parkside High School
• Keagan Shump of Talbot County, Stephen Decatur High School
• Owen Sperry of Worcester County, Stephen Decatur High School
Choptank Electric Trust Scholarship Winners each receiving $2,000 to further their continued education:
