Choptank’s Jeff Rathell Elected to National Cooperative Board
At the March annual meeting of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), Jeff Rathell was elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Jeff currently represents Talbot County members on the Choptank Electric Cooperative Board, where he has been Chairman for five years.
“I am excited to join the talented pool of Cooperative leaders who help guide our national organization,” said Rathell. “The future of energy generation, transmission and distribution will be impacted by decisions made in Washington on Capitol Hill. I will make sure the voice of Maryland’s Eastern Shore is heard when NRECA discusses how best to participate in the national dialogue.”
NRECA is a member-driven organization, working to shape and respond to changes in technology, law, and public policy and support economic development in local communities across the country. The association’s 48-person board is comprised of one locally elected director from each state in which a voting member of NRECA is located. Choptank Electric Cooperative has been a long-standing member of NRECA.
